Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Mr Eazi, has revealed how a chance meeting with BET nominee, Kwesi Arthur, forced him to reach out to disadvantaged musicians across the continent.
The superstar told the story to Ugandan journalists on Thursday while explaining his mission for touring the East African nation.
The Nigerian hit-maker woke up one day to a trending tweet from the Ghanaian rapper appreciating Mr. Eazi for his intervention which had earned Arthur international recognition overnight.
Both artistes had met at a concert in Ghana, and after Mr Eazi had fallen in love with Kwesi Arthur’s act he reached out to the latter.
Mr Eazi would soon discover that Kwesi Arthur could not shoot his own videos since event promoters exploited him for free shows.
And the rapper remembering to say thanks after Mr Eazi benevolently bore the full cost of his music video earned more than the singer’s respect.
In fact Mr Eazi was so moved by the entire event he founded an initiative to discover 1000 of the best music talents across Africa and fully fund the production and promotion of their music and videos for free!
It’s amazing what the combination of talent, thank you and a very good heart can birth…
