Nigeria – Nigerian music star MrEazi has had to watch as organizers of an event he was billed to perform in Zimbabwe was called off.
There were prior suggestions of the concert’s rescheduling after the government outlawed public gatherings due to the outbreak of cholera in the troubled country.
“We would like to inform all Ammara fans that due to the critical cholera outbreak in Zimbabwe, Ammara Brown is postponing the Harare leg of her Ammartia Ignite Sadc Tour,” a public notice released by the organizers stated.
The event was Zimbabwe superstar Ammara Brown’s Ammartia Ignite Gig which was scheduled to come off on September 27, 2018. Although MrEazi was billed to perform, Ms Brown was headline act, and the event was to serve as a precursor to her SADC Tour anticipated for the last weekend in October.
Also billed to perform were local star acts, ExQ and Tammy. However, the cholera scare coupled with extravagant ticket pricing and the relative absence of continental A-listers put paid to the desires of die-hard fans of Mr. Eazi , whose latest smash hit Property is making huge strides in the Southern African nation.
“Everything else will go on as planned because we have engaged all artistes and they have confirmed the new date although we are still to get a venue, but there are plenty of options as well… We are also reimbursing those who want their money back since some companies had bought tickets for their employees, but those who still want to come to the rescheduled show should keep their tickets because they will still be valid then.” Chido Musasiwa, the concert coordinator revealed.
It is not exactly certain when the new date for the concert is.
