Screen goddess Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has taken to Instagram to bash Nigeria after a trip to Ghana left her in awe of her fatherland’s West African neighbors.
The forty year old former model was in Accra for the 2018 AFRIMA where she also presented an award, but if she could present another award then she certainly would be given it to Ghana after being left impressed with the country’s economy, hospitality service and general development.
She posted to her Instagram
Okay… So Economists , come and analyze oh… this Amongst other things was quite alarming on my trip to Ghana.
Hmm… I changed N10,000 (Ten thousand Naira) and it was only worth …..
C120 ( One hundred and twenty cedis)
Not C1,200 and certainly not 12,000 cedis but a mere 120 cedis!!!
1 dollar in ghana is 4.8 cedis !
#Ghanamustgo and they have Gone, are they moving faster than us?
I don’t want to talk about the airport , Tubaba has already talked about that but I forgot both my phones while signing the immigration cards, about 10mins later, it was announced to pick them up at guest services! Ha!
#GiantofAfrica ? #Getbusy #Getbusy #Getbusy 😓😓😓. Abi? I’m I missing something?
Omotola knows a thing or two about excellence having wowed patrons of African cinema for over two decades with her acting expertise since making her screen debut in 1995. And it doesn’t seem like it’s something she reckons as associative of her country’s governance.
She is also not the only entertainer to take a dig at the Nigerian government as the oil-rich nation heads for the polls on February 16 next year.
Just last week, another beautiful Nolywood actress, Mary Remmy Njoku, ranted at the Nigerian government on social media after discovering there was no water to flash at the Lagos International Airport washrooms- which had all been filled with different layers of waste!
Mrs. Ekeinde Jalade and Mrs. Njoku’s criticism of the government follows similar sentiments shared by top Nigerian celebrities such as Yemi Alade, Olamide, 2Baba and gospel act, Eben.
