SOUTH AFRICA – Gospel music star Dr Tumi has been preaching a Jesus dedicated to redeeming people from fire through his very captivating songs, but to many natives of Khayelitsa, he might just be that Jesus.
Khayelitsa is one of South Africa’s most notorious towns with the average crime rate way above the national average, and a recent fire outbreak that engulfed the province led to several hundreds of people being displaced and losing their properties.
Several less forgiving Christians compared Khayelitsa’s plight to biblical Sodom and Gomorrah and described the situation as heaven’s judgment, but again Dr Tumi has proved himself better than the ordinary Christian.
The multiple award-winning star, a week after the incidents, has announced that he has established a foundation to aid Khayelitsa fire victims by providing reliefs to ease their grief and facilitate their recovery.
Speaking on TshishaLIVE, the doctor cum singer said “…to realize that people’s lives are forever changed and it happened so quickly for so many people…It struck a nerve with me and I had to get involved.”
