Prominent South African rapper, Nasty C, has taken to popular social media network Instagram to boast about his list of achievements with weeks to spare in 2018.
In a daring post, the star mentioned 20 of his biggest achievements within the past 12 months, including earning 15 awards nominations, birthing back-to-back multi-platinum albums, performing in 34 International Markets as well as making historic impacts on global brands such as Forbes, Puma, Hot97 and YouTube.
Nasty C also made some very interesting revelations. The platinum-selling Strings and Bling album has more than 55million total streams on Spotify and another 20million on Apple Music Plays. The Headies’ winner for African Act of the Year also has the most successful youth tour on the continent having seen his Ivyson tour sell out and shut down five venues, including the Hage Geingob stadium 1000km away in Namibia.
21-year old Nasty C, born Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo, has taken just over three years in the mainstream to cement his place in African Hip Hop and gain recognition as one of the culture’s most influential personalities.
And his latest social media activity which caught several people left field by publicly bragging about his feats in discography, events, social media, and radio & TV bucks his growing reputation of being daring, unpredictable and a pacesetter.
It remains highly unlikely though that other front-line African stars would respond in kind with their own publication of their achievements although several fans of Nasty C have hailed the initiative as a challenge to all his contemporaries.
